Jumpstart: Read for the Record
The Read for the Record event focuses on a book and an author that the Jumpstart program has chosen to highlight. Events like these remind us of the importance of books and that knowledge is power.
When the Jumpstart team heard about the reading event, ideas and creativity started to flow. The team came together and designed many different and amazing crafts.
Once the crafts were completed, the next step was to get everything ready for the actual event.
On the day of the event, the team came early to prepare for all the friends that would be there. There were many different tables for creation, such as: a theater station, a D.I.Y. table, a naming and hat station, and much more.
The reading event gave light to new authors like Seina Wedlick, who was chosen for her children's book The Naming Ceremony, an opportunity to meet some of her readers.
Overall, the event was a wonderful experience that brought people together and formed connections through reading.
