Position Summary: |
|
|
Coordinate and implement the Child &
Adolescent Development Dual Language B.A. degree pilot program, ensuring
consistency and quality, recommending and implementing changes as needed
to benefit students and program. Coordinate systematic evaluation.
Coordinate course selection, marketing, and implementation of the
program. Interface with faculty. Provide guidance to students
throughout their enrollment in the program. Participate in management of
program budget. Supervise support staff. Work with community college
partners and other agencies. |

Qualifications: |
|
|
Education and experience in early childhood
education, child development, adult learning theories, adult dual
language immersion models, and teaching experience. Masters degree or
completion of doctoral degree preferred. Bilingual Spanish/English
required. Strong organizational skills, budget/financial management
skills/experience, attention to detail, strong written and oral
communication skills, supervisory skills and experience, ability to work
effectively in a multicultural environment, and ability to collaborate
with individuals from other educational and community agencies. Previous
work experience in higher education preferred. Marketing and outreach
skills a plus. Tri-lingual English/Spanish/Cantonese a plus. Able to
travel by personal automobile in and around the Bay Area as needed to
visit sites and attend meetings. |

Schedule:
Monday – Friday 8:00-5:00. Some work on
evenings and weekends will be required and workweek will be adjusted
accordingly. Position is based on the SFSU campus. |

This is a full time, temporary position.
Anticipated salary range $5,000/mo - $5,500/mo
Immediate start date. Anticipated end date of this position is Sept 29,
2010.

Child and Adolescent Development Program at San Francisco State University is
now accepting applications for a tenure track position in area of Child
Development. The successful applicant may teach the following undergraduate
courses: professional roles in child and adolescent development; applied child
and youth development; children, youth, and public policy; action research
methods; and internship seminar and supervision.
Qualifications:
Completed doctorate in field related to child development and/or children and
families. Successful experience in college/university teaching; record of
quality scholarship, research and/or creative activity; ability to work well in
an interdisciplinary, applied program; and in a multiethnic, multicultural ,
urban environment.
Rank and Salary:
Assistant Professor; salary commensurate with experience.
Starting Date:
August 2008

On Saturday, February 10, Jumpstart members attended Mayor Newsom’s Townhall Meeting for Bayview community members at Whitney Young Child Development Center. Since Whitney Young CDC is a Jumpstart Program Partner, Jumpstart members came out to show support for the Mayor’s redevelopment plan in the Bayview community.

The Office of Head Start is now announcing this new interactive website. The ECLKC offers relevant, timely information, knowledge and learning to Head Start programs and the early childhood community in an easy-to-use format. It will grow and evolve over the next several years and is designed to be a comprehensive resource for anyone involved with or interested in early childhood education.
