Research interests:

  • Qualitative Research methods; Observations, Ethnography, & Participatory Action research.
    • Working with teachers on Second Language Acquisition through participatory action research.
    • Kindergarten expectations

Teaching interests:

  • School Readiness, language acquisition, learning environments, program management, pedagogical praxis.
  • Trainer in different aspects of Early Childhood Development, curriculum and instruction, child assessments and intentional teaching
  • Children assessments, child outcomes and links to staff professional growth.

Service interests:

  • Community Affiliations: Serve on several Board of Advisory Committees as a member for First 5/Preschool for All, Gateway to Quality, California Child Development Association for Administrators (CCDAA), Early Literacy Network (ELN), member of California Head Start Association, member of National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), and San Francisco ECE Leadership Academy.
  • Trained assessor in early Environment Rating Scale (ECERS), Infant/Toddler Environmental rating Scale (ITERS).
  • Established and implemented a mentoring/Coaching (Technical Assistance) instructional model.
  • Curriculum & emphases on intentional Pedagogical practices.
